What Is a Business Headshot?
A business headshot is a professional portrait, typically cropped from the chest up, that highlights your face with clarity and confidence. It’s designed to capture your personality and professionalism while visually communicating who you are and what you do.
These headshots are commonly used on websites, resumes, LinkedIn profiles, business cards, and marketing materials.
In most cases, your headshot is seen before you ever meet someone in person—making it a critical part of your personal or professional brand. A strong, well-crafted image helps you stand out and make a lasting impression.

What Makes a Great Business Headshot?
At The Headshots Guy, we know that first impressions matter—especially in today’s digital world. A strong business headshot should follow these key principles:
Well-lit: Proper lighting enhances your features and ensures a clean, professional look.
Sharp and clear: The image should be crisp, never blurry or poorly cropped.
Well-framed: Your face should take up the majority of the frame, without being too close or too distant.
Approachable expression: A natural, confident look helps build trust and relatability.
Simple background: A clean, neutral backdrop keeps the focus on you, not distractions.
We specialize in creating professional headshots across Louisiana that reflect who you are and the message you want to send.
Tips for a Great Business Headshot
To get the most out of your headshot session, keep these simple tips in mind:
Keep your hair neat and well-groomed
Go easy on makeup and jewelry—less is more when aiming for a clean, professional look
Avoid bold patterns or stripes that can distract from your face
Choose a plain or neutral background to keep the focus on you
Stand with relaxed, confident posture—standing typically photographs better than sitting
Practice a range of expressions, from subtle smiles to strong, professional “Get Stuff Done” looks
