A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to book any session, with the remaining balance due on the day of the shoot. Damion definitely made his name photographing portraits and has won many awards for his portrait work, but with his modern style of headshot photography he quickly became one of the most sought after photographers for headshots. First of all in the Baton Rouge area but now throughout the entire south of the US. He genuinely loves to shoot both headshot and portrait photography.
During a headshot session Damion keeps the camera up close and personal. All the headshot images are captured from the chest up while he concentrates on coaching and directing you toward your best expression. That is something that Damion is extremely good at, he will coach you through the entire process to not only capture superb photos but to help you understand what looks good in camera. Backgrounds can and will be changed to add different looks and we welcome multiple clothing options too.
Portrait sessions allow Damion to get a little more creative to give a broader and more varied range of looks.You will get portraits and headshot styled images in this shoot but Damion will vary the lighting and and backdrops to give you everything you might need for your own marketing and branding purposes.
Damion photographs his in-studio headshot sessions out of a Baton Rouge studio near Sherwood Blvd close to the I-12. He likes his clientele to bring a variety of clothing options and generally shoot a handful of different looks throughout each session.
Damion will usually be shooting tethered to his laptop so that he can discuss the images as they are captured. The ability to look at the shots as he shoots helps make any adjustments and redirect the focus of the session to account for anything Damion feels you could additionally benefit from along the way.
Feel free to bring a range of different options for clothing. The go to rule is that if you don't love it, you probably won't like the photos of you wearing it. For corporate clients we suggest the men bring a variety of jacket/shirt/tie/polo combos and the women bring some options of blouses/shirt/dress/jacket combinations. Try to keep accessories to a minimum, studs and small earrings work with simple necklaces. Anything too bulky or shiny can draw attention away from the most important part of the photo, which is obviously YOU.
Big patterns and very bright colors (like almost fluorescent colors) are usually something to avoid as they can be distracting and very bright colors can reflect on the skin.
Classic business colors like whites, blues, grays, blacks are always a great place to start with small patterns, stripes and checks giving a professional look.
I will say this though....... this is just a guideline!! If you love the bold patterns and crazy colors and that is your personality then great. Go with it, this is your shoot and we need your personality.
And finally, don't stress about it. If you are unsure whether you should bring an outfit, just bring it. The worst that can happen is you don't wear it. Better to have it and not use it than not have it and want to use it.
We do have Spotify playing music in the studio and please feel free to ask if there is a genre of music you enjoy. Damion doesn't really hear the music as he is concentrating on the shots and he likes to talk also. A lot! Music can help you relax. Obviously we will not have the music crazy loud so we can communicate but background music can certainly help you be yourself during the shoot.
Damion understands the excitement and sometimes the need to have your headshot photos quickly, he also has complete confidence in his work straight out of camera. So with this in mind your online proofing gallery will be available for you to view within 48 hours from the end of your photo shoot, the proofing gallery will be straight out of camera with no retouching or editing to the images.
You can then look through your proofing gallery and share with others if you wish to. Once you have chosen your images, they will be sent to our professional retouchers who will polish them up and get them back to us usually in 3 business days.
You will then be able to download the retouched images from your online gallery. So in less than a week you could have your photo shoot, see all your images, have the keepers retouched and have them downloaded to your computer. Pretty amazing, right?!
Damion usually shoots headshot and portrait sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays with multiple time slots available through the day and evening to accommodate clients with work schedules.
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to book a spot on Damion's calendar. The fee is due at the time of booking and no dates/times are secured until the deposit is paid. Check availability and book online here.
